COOLING WITH COLD AIR

Cooling with cold air of moulded plastic materials to grant the dimensional stability of the components and their conformity to the reference sample.

COOLING WITH COLD AIR

The device for cooling with cold air uses a variable number of blocking dies and cold air. The exposure to cold air prevents the thermoplastic material from shrinking or getting deformed.
After being removed from the moulding machine the article is transferred into a cooling box and placed on some dies that block it on various points of its surface. The blocking dies hold the article in the crucial points to maintain the specific dimensions. While held in this way, the article is cooled by cold air blown inside the cooling box. By cooling down, the article keeps the dimensions that conform with the reference sample. The air temperature and the length of the exposition vary according to the thermoplastic material to cool.

The articles that can be cooled with cold air can be produced by means of injection moulding, extrusion moulding, compression moulding, blow moulding and suction 2D/3D (2k).

Among the articles that have been cooled with cold air by the machines of GS Finishing Machines the following can be listed: pipes to intake the dirty air and clean air from the engine and filling pipes for tanks.
