SCREWING
Screwing is the simplest of the assembly techniques. It is used to insert screws or inserts that have a thread specifically designed to be nested into thermoplastics. The particular geometry of the thread allows to screw on the screws directly into the thermoplastic components without damaging them.
The heat necessary for the creation, without tensions, of the thread in the thermoplastic material is created by the friction during the screwing. It is therefore necessary to adjust the speed of the screwer (i.e. the number of rounds per minute) so that the friction can produce the right temperature for the deformation of the thermoplastic material.
The customized screwing devices of GS Finishing Machines can be supplied with automatic loading of the components to insert. Motor and screwing process are managed by a control unit, that checks also that the screwing parameters are respected at the end of the working cycle.
The articles into which elements can be screwed can be produced by means of injection moulding, extrusion moulding, compression moulding, thermoforming, blow moulding, suction 2D/3D (2k) and rotational moulding.
Among the articles into which the machines of GS Finishing Machines have screwed on components there are the following, listed as an example: battery boxes, automotive pedalboards, supports for the steering column, filter boxes, tanks, pipes, conveyor ducts, light cases and accessory components of any nature.
